Ben Affleck sarà Batman nell'atteso sequel di Man of steel, dove Henry Cavill riprenderà i panni di Superman, così come torneranno Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne e Diane Lane.
L'annuncio è stato diffuso da Greg Silverman e Sue Kroll della Warner Bros Pictures.
Il film sarà diretto ancora da Zack Snyder, molto eccitato all'idea di dar vita all'incontro dei due supereroi nello stesso film.

Pare che le riprese, annunciate per il 2014, partano addirittura nel week-end del 18/21 ottobre 2013. Ecco la dichiarazione:
-- According to East Los Angeles College Campus News (via Latino Review) the production will be filming a few takes during halftime of their home football game this Saturday.
It is reported that as ELAC goes into the locker room during their game, their stadium will turn into the Gotham City University home stadium for a game against their rival Metropolis State University. The site reports that "the first 2,000 people who sit in the filming area of the stadium will receive T-shirts designed by Snyder for those participating in the filming." Filming will be quick though, as production will be shooting just three takes of three plays and "capturing the actors and crowd’s reactions." --

"I saw the Batman costume. More than that I saw a picture of him (Affleck) in the costume. Now, I don't want to give anything away 'cause that is up to them and stuff, but I am going to say this, I instantly bear hugged him (Snyder). You have not seen this costume in a movie on film before, and for a comic book fan it was mind bending. I was like 'Get out of here, only you have enough power to pull this off.' Because everyone always like does this Matrix/X-Men black armor...It was fantastic. I'm already a flag waver for this movie, but the costume, it blew my mind. I think everyone is just gonna be like 'Holy ****!' It's its own thing, man. It's like we haven't been down this path at all. I was so elated....Even the hardest core “**** all this” person will be like 'alright, I'm ready.'"
